About the LSP

Manchester Women's Network (MWN) is one of 22 Communities of Interest which, together with 7 Geographical Networks, make up the Community Network for Manchester (CN4M).

CN4M is creating a more powerful voice for the voluntary and community sector in Manchester, particularly within the Manchester Local Strategic Partnership (LSP). It is able to feed the concerns of local people to decision-makers, and to influence the way development strategies and spending plans are drawn up.

Manchester Women's Network is made up of its member groups and individual women who have an active interest in the aims of the network.

What we do

Manchester Women's Network has employed a part-time Co-ordinator who meets monthly with the voluntary MWN Steering Group to monitor and guide the development of the Network. Any member is welcome to join the Steering Group or to sit in on meetings. Minutes are posted in the documents section.

MWN is developing a comprehensive database of Greater Manchester women's groups. With groups' permission, their details are made available through the members section of this web site.

Members receive regular mailings and the quarterly MWN Newsletter. Everyone is invited to submit articles, adverts and news items for inclusion in the upcoming issue of the newsletter.

The Network organises quarterly Network Events where women can meet each other, share info about their groups, develop projects and attend workshops and discussions.

MWN is also engaged in research and other projects initiated by members. These benefit from the wide-ranging resources of the membership and our privileged access to various grants and targeted pots of money. Click here for current projects
